Born and raised in Baltimore, Ohio, Matt’s family moved to the Roaring Fork Valley in 2018. Prior to joining the Z Group Team, he was working in the CAD/Design Profession since 1995, as well as working across multiple disciplines including Structural/Mechanical Design and Detailing, Retail Architecture, Civil Design and Inspections, and Utility Design/Planning. Matt also has Residential and Civil Construction experience and hands-on surveying knowledge. With an Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Design and CAD Design, obtained in 1996, Matt has extensive training in many different CAD Design Software including: MicroStation, AutoCad, Civil 3D, AutoCad Architecture, PLS CAD (overhead utility design), including Certification in using Trimble Handheld GPS Data Collectors.

Matt’s primary responsibility at Z Group Architects is preparing Permit Ready Construction Documents. When needed, he does as-built surveys, conceptual modeling, and code and product research. We value his hard work and enthusiasm because as he says it best, “I will help anyone out with anything, regardless of the task!”.

During his free time, Matt volunteers weekly with his local food bank, assisting in distributing food. He loves spending time with his wife of 22 years and two children. Matt enjoys woodworking, off-roading, camping, hunting, and fishing.
