Marina Skiles

Senior Interior Architect

AIA

Marina received her Professional BARCH from the University of Arkansas, Summa Cum Laude, in 2001. She brings 22 years of architectural and interior design, along with historic preservation and planning expertise, to the Z Group team. Marina maintains long-standing and positive relationships with consultants, state-wide jurisdictions, and international clients.

As a Senior Interior Architect and Interior Designer, Marina is able to successfully merge architecture and interiors with cohesive and sophisticated design. She is a passionate and dedicated leader with an uncanny ability to encourage positive dialogue between client, builder, and the creative team. Clients appreciate her energy and communication skills, builders respect her deep knowledge of the trade, and Z Group admires her ability to foster creative conversations while continually mentoring and learning.

A 24-year resident of the Roaring Fork Valley, Marina is an inveterate academic and a community leader. A master’s degree in Medieval History from the University of Edinburgh recently joined her architecture degree from University of Arkansas, where she and her occasional southern accent originate. She is Board President of Carbondale Arts and a fierce booster of her mid-valley hometown.

Piano practice, sketching, and summer gardening occupy the inspiring periphery of her days, but it is motherhood that is always center. Few things hone one’s creativity and communications skills quite as much as guiding a teen daughter through this beautiful and challenging world.
