Aspen Architects Recognized for Legacy & Site-Sensitive Design
We’re honored to share that Z Group Architecture & Interior Design has been named to the 2026 LUXE Interiors + Design Gold List as a Honoree — a national recognition celebrating leading architects and designers shaping luxury architecture and interior design today.
For us, this honor feels especially meaningful.
Founded in Aspen in 1952 as the town’s first licensed architecture firm, Z Group has spent more than 70 years designing architecture that belongs to the landscape — homes and spaces that feel grounded in the Rocky Mountains and deeply connected to the people who inhabit them. To be recognized by LUXE Interiors + Design affirms what has always guided our work: thoughtful, site-sensitive design rooted in story, collaboration, and legacy.
Celebrated Projects Featured in LUXE
Two Aspen projects featured in LUXE Interiors + Design beautifully reflect our philosophy of mountain home design.

Ikigai — Aspen, Colorado
Inspired by the Japanese concept of ikigai, meaning “a reason for being,” Ikigai was featured in LUXE Interiors + Design in a 2024 editorial titled “Defining Joy: A Riverfront Aspen Home Inspired by the Japanese Concept of Ikigai.” This modern Aspen residence was designed as a sanctuary for intentional living. Led by Senior Principal Seth Hmielowski in collaboration with Senior Interior Designer Andrea Glinn, the home balances clean contemporary architecture with warmth and quiet elegance.
Expansive glazing draws in mountain light. Materials were chosen for texture and calm. Indoor and outdoor living unfold seamlessly — creating a home that feels reflective, joyful, and deeply personal. Ikigai represents what we believe luxury architecture should be: purposeful, experiential, and connected to place.

Dulcinea — Aspen, Colorado
Featured in LUXE under “A Colorado Home With Natural Hues Nods To Nature,” Dulcinea celebrates organic form and alpine context. Its expressive roofline — reminiscent of a butterfly’s wings — captures light while framing surrounding peaks.
Inside, natural materials, soft tonal palettes, and intentional sightlines bring the landscape into every room. The home feels contemporary, yet timeless. Elevated, yet grounded. It’s a reflection of how Aspen architecture can be bold without overpowering the land.
Why This Recognition Matters
As Aspen architects and interior designers, we don’t design for awards. We design for families gathering across generations. For creative retreats that restore perspective. For legacy estates that will stand quietly for decades.
Recognition on the 2026 LUXE Gold List simply reinforces our commitment to:
Luxury mountain home design that honors the high altitude mountain landscape
Interior architecture and design that support emotional experience
Sustainable, site-sensitive architecture in Aspen and beyond
Collaborative relationships built on trust and listening
Architecture should enhance life — not just visually, but emotionally.
That belief has guided Z Group for over seven decades, and it continues to shape every project we take on across Aspen, Snowmass, the Roaring Fork Valley, and the greater Rocky Mountain region.
