Z Group Named to the 2026 CH&L List of Top Architects

We’re honored to share that Z Group Architecture & Interior Design has once again been named to the 2026 CH&L List of Top Architects by Colorado Homes & Lifestyles — marking our fourth consecutive year recognized in 2023, 2024, 2025, and now 2026.

Strata House: A Celebrated Project Featured in Colorado Homes & Lifestyles

Strata House is a luxurious, one-of-a-kind home that highlights the seamless integration of structure and nature, defining our approach to luxury mountain home design.

Recognized in CH&L’s article “A Glass Act,” the residence is shaped by expansive glazing, layered forms, and refined materiality that echo the site's natural strata. Glass walls dissolve boundaries between interior and exterior, allowing light, landscape, and season to shape the home's experience.

“We nestled the house into the hillside so that pretty much on every level, you walk out onto grade. It works within the existing contours of the site rather than trying to force some other shape onto the house by cutting in a big flat spot. We did the front side so it’s all sun and view, and the backside is for privacy and shade, so in June or July, when you’re crushed with the sun, you go to the backside, which is totally in shade. Then, when the sun goes down, you go to the front.” – Seth Hmielowski, Senior Principal
