Z Group Hits the Links for the Waldorf School Golf Tournament in Carbondale
On October 9, 2026, Z Group Architecture & Interior Design Principal and Partner Scott McHale and Architectural Designer Evan Weller teed off at the 2nd Annual Waldorf School on the Roaring Fork Golf Tournament at River Valley Ranch in Carbondale, Colorado. Joined by Sebastian Wanatowicz and Dennis Murray, the foursome took part in the four-person scramble benefiting the Waldorf School on the Roaring Fork.
For a firm whose story has been intertwined with the Roaring Fork Valley since 1952, it's a welcome opportunity to get outside, spend time with friends and neighbors, and participate in the community we have long called home.

A Day on the Course for a Carbondale School
Founded in 1991, Waldorf School on the Roaring Fork has served students and families in the Roaring Fork Valley for more than three decades. Its mission is to inspire the spirit of the child and academic excellence through educational artistry, emphasizing creativity, critical thinking, connection, and hands-on learning.
Its Carbondale campus is particularly rooted in place. Located on 13 acres along the Roaring Fork River in the foothills of Mount Sopris, the school's passive-solar, straw-bale building was designed around natural light, warmth, and human experience. Each classroom opens outdoors, while seven acres of wetlands and river frontage extend the learning environment.
This approach to place and experience feels distinctly at home in the Roaring Fork Valley.

Rooted in the Roaring Fork Valley
Z Group's own roots in this valley go back to 1952, when our architectural practice was founded in Aspen. More than seven decades later, the relationships that formed throughout Aspen, Snowmass, Basalt, Carbondale, and the greater Western Slope remain an important part of who we are.
Sometimes those connections are formed around a design table. Other times, they're strengthened outside the studio.
We're looking forward to seeing Seth, Scott, Sebastian, and Dennis out on the course at River Valley Ranch—and perhaps enjoying a little friendly competition along the way.
