Christina Lodge + Callihan Cabin

Historic Renovation + Historic Cabin Preservation

The Christiana Lodge is a historic landmark of Aspen, Colorado. Originally called Shadow Hill Lodge, a fire burnt down this hotel at the base of Shadow Mountain leaving only the fireplace on site in 1955. The Aspenhof was built in its place in the mid-1950s. The lodge was eventually renamed to Christiania Ski Lodge and Chalets.

Today, the Christiana Aspen remains in the Aspen lodging landscape as a 4-star luxury complex featuring apartments, condos, affordable housing, lodge, log cabins, and the historically restored Callihan Log Cabin. Christiana Aspen is a complex that houses 31 units on a 27,000 sq. ft. half city block sitting at the base of Shadow Mountain in the West End of Aspen, CO. The units consist of studios, 1 and 2 bedrooms, 2-story and 3-story condos, employee housing, and cabins. It was built in 2 Phases: Phase one - lodge, 4-plex, log cabins, and 2 pan abode cabins, Phase two - 6-plex, duplex, and tri-plex.

The Christiana Aspen complex houses the historically restored Callihan Log Cabin, which is currently used as employee housing. Originally built in the 1880s, it is one of the few buildings left in Aspen from that era and the only one from prior to 1885 with hand-hewd logs.
